Children are always welcome in classes at Sport Diver's. Children as young as 10 yrs of age can obtain a junior certification as an open water diver. They are limited to 40 foot dives and must dive with a parent or PADI professional. Children ages 12-15 can obtain a junior certification as an open water or advanced open water diver. They have a maximum depth of 60 feet and must always dive with an adult. Some of the PADI specialties are also available to 12-15 yr olds. Upon turning 16, junior divers can upgrade to an adult certification by either applying for a new card or taking a more advanced class. |
| Sport Diver's has significant experience in working with junior divers. This includes a middle school magnet program, girl and boy scout troops, and a one week summer SCUBA camp. SCUBA provides a non-competitive environment for learning teamwork and self-confidence. | |
