Are you new to diving or wanting to return to diving after a period of time? Or do you just have a few questions? You can find your answers here. And if you have a question we haven't answered, let us know!
I'm returning to diving after a long break, what do I need to do to refresh my skills?
You can take a refresher class with one of our divemasters or instructors. We recommend this for anyone who has not been diving in over a year. In the refresher course, you will go over dive tables and in-water basic skills with a PADI professional. It usually only takes one afternoon. You can prepare for this by looking at PADI's online SCUBA Review. However, this is not a substitute for spending time in the water with a divemaster or instructor.

I'm afraid of sharks - what do I need to do to protect myself?
It is very rare that you will see sharks while recreational diving unless you go look for them. They are very shy and solitary creatures. Out of the hundreds of species of sharks only a very few are dangerous to humans.

Isn't diving dangerous?
Diving is very safe if you are properly trained and follow your training. The old myths about it being a highly technical sport that is filled with danger are no longer true. SCUBA is now considered a family friendly and safe sport.

How long do you need to wait to fly after diving?
We recommend waiting to fly at least 24 hours after your last dive.

Can I drink alcohol and dive?
Drinking and diving do not mix. Wait until after your last dive of the day to imbibe.

How old do you have to be to dive?
The youngest certification can be obtained at age 10. This is Junior Open Water certification. It has depth limits of 40 feet and the child must dive with a PADI professional or parent.

Call or stop by Sport Diver's and let their knowledgeable staff introduce you to the wonderful and amazing world of SCUBA.
