Sport Diver’s Kids SCUBA Camp 2017
Sport Diver’s of Houston will be offering a SCUBA camp in June and July 2017 for children and teens 10 years old and older. The camp is designed as an educational experience leading to Open Water SCUBA certification. The information is presented in written, video, and lecture formats. To assure mastery of the subject, information is reviewed in Knowledge Reviews, quizzes, and a final exam. The skills discussed in class are practiced in a pool and open water environment. Upon completion of the program, students will receive a PADI Open Water SCUBA certification.
The camp is for 5 days:
Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm.
Teaching staff will be at the store 30 minutes prior to and after class.

Open water dives: Th & F
The pool sessions are conducted at William H. Williams memorial pool located in Webster. Open water dives are conducted at a local lake within about a 30-minute drive from the Clear Lake area. Transportation to the pool and open water dives will be provided.
Camp fee: $550 (includes: Book kit, rental gear, pool and park transportation and fees)
Each student will need to supply his/her personal gear, which includes:
- Fins & booties (approximate cost $200)
Students will also need to bring a towel, bathing suit, and a desire to learn in a fun and exciting atmosphere. Each student may bring a sack lunch and drink or have the option of walking to Subway sandwich shop with the camp staff to purchase a lunch (please bring sufficient funds).
A medical questionnaire must be filled out for each student and, if conditions warrant, a physician’s approval will be required.
Registration for the course is required before the SCUBA camp start date. Parents must be available for approximately 15 minutes on Monday prior to the start of class. Paperwork, class fees, and medicals (if necessary) will be collected at this time. Parents will meet the instructor(s), view a short video, and pick up student book kits.
What you need to know:
PADI is the Professional Association of Diving Instructors and is the largest SCUBA certifying agency in the world. PADI courses have met the stringent requirements of the American Council on Education (ACE) and are recommended for college credit.
